
The Blue Spring Heritage Center is pleased to announce that it will host a monthly flute circle meeting, to promote learning how to play the Native American flute. Each meeting will be held at the Heritage Center, 5 ½ miles west of Eureka Springs, AR on Highway 62 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
The first meeting is Saturday, October 21st . Each meeting after that, will be held the 2nd Saturday morning of each month.
Everyone is encouraged to bring their own Native American flutes, or you may use flutes belonging to other attendees. The more experienced flute players will be glad to help new players learn or increase their playing skills.
In addition, there will be guest speakers, guest performers, and flute makers, who will present various programs, and workshops.
Future workshops will include advanced flute playing techniques, and the making of simple to professional flutes.
The purpose of this group is to help preserve and advance the traditions of the music of the Native Americans, as well as to blend this music with more modern music adaptations, for listening pleasure, relaxation, and the healing of body and spirit. The meeting is free to the public.
